Meet the Artist: Gary W “Doc” Scribner
Welcome to the third exhibit of my works at the Calvert Library-Fairview Branch in cooperation with their “Art In The Stacks” Program, Aug 2-Nov 1, 2024 . I am pleased to be joined for this event by mixed-media artist, Cynthia Brennan.
My Bio: Based in Dunkirk, Calvert County, Maryland, Gary “Doc” Scribner, using the tradename ScribbleImages Photography, has traveled to over 40 countries and to all 50 US states, capturing landscapes on film and digital media, since the early 1970’s. During his travels, in addition to landscapes, Gary has enjoyed capturing street scenes of ordinary people in cities he has visited, some of which will be displayed in this exhibit. A third subject area of interest is nature photography: flowers, insects and birds are his favorite targets.
The first 3 links in the pull-down menu will take you to my three sets of photographic images being displayed throughout the entire period of the show. The collection is comprised of photos taken in North America, recent shots from North Africa, and older images from Europe and Asia. These 3 sets are organized by location (wall surface) in the library. In addition, the last (4th) link below will direct you to a page displaying a legacy painting of my grandmother’s, which be shown at Fairview on a limited basis due to its age and value to my family.
