Vienna

I spent 4 days in Vienna, and I still did not have enough time! The palaces, which include many ornate gardens and fountains, consume substantial indoor as well as outdoor walking time. The interior of the churches, with their frescoes painted on ceilings, rivaled what one could see in Rome.

One day was spent taking a side-trip to Melk, to see the famous monastery and travel along the Danube on my return trip to Vienna . A great wiener schnitzel meal was had in the town of Melk…continuing the culinary portion of my self-directed tour.
