“The Pemaquid Peninsula – Our Little Secret”
Since 2008, I have stayed at a small waterfront cottage “Camp David” on the Johns River, which bounds the west side of the Pemaquid Peninsula.
Very few people have traveled to this peninsula just east of Boothbay Harbor.
I am glad they have not found it.
It has many charms including a famous lighthouse and wonderful coves.
Pemaquid Harbor is a sleepy little port for lobster fisherman.
New Harbor is arguably the “main village” with Reilly’s Grocery Store at the hub.
The towns of Bristol and South Bristol – well, don’t blink 3 times while traveling through them because you will miss them.
Pemaquid is the “Peninsula Less Traveled” – a gem hard to find in this day and age of tourist overload!
And finally, the great thing about visiting Pemaquid as a photographer is this:
You don’t have to travel far to get a great photograph.
